Home Health Care CAHPS (HHCAHPS) Survey results based on responses from patients who received home health care from Medicare-certified home health agencies (HHAs) between January 2012 and December 2012 are now reported on the Home Health Compare page on the CMS website. HHCAHPS Survey results are updated each calendar year quarter and published on Home Health Compare. This data allow you to compare the quality of care provided by Medicare-certified home health agencies throughout the nation.
The multifactor risk assessment process measure increased by two percentage points to 96% in the latest update of the Home Health Compare website.
Six other process measures also saw improvements in the latest Home Health Compare update compared with the April update. These include:-
Pressure ulcer prevention: Improved to 96% from 95%

Pressure ulcer prevention included in plan of care: Improved to 97% from 96%

Depression assessment: Improved to 98% from 97%

Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine: Improved to 69% from 68%

Improvement in management of oral meds: Improved to 50% from 49%

Influenza immunization: Improved to 70% from 69%
The timely initiation of care process measure reduced down by one percentage point to 91%, the Home Health Compare website reflects. For outcome measures, the urgent and unplanned care in the emergency room measure worsened by increasing one percentage point to 12 percent.
The Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) patient survey measure that tracks specific care issues bettered by one percentage point to 84%. Apart from this movement, Home Health scores remained unchanged.
The updated OASIS-based process measures reflect data collected in between April 2012 and March 2013, while the two claims-based utilization measures (acute care hospitalizations and emergency department use) reflect claims filed between Jan. 2012 and Dec. 2012.
