TMF® Health Quality Institute (TMF) released the new Hospice PEPPER. Version Q4FY14 summarizes statistics for fiscal years 2012, 2013, and 2014 and is available through the PEPPER Resources Portal. The PEPPER includes four new target areas, which were added in response to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) report. The recently-released OIG report identified concerns with hospice services provided to beneficiaries residing in an assisted living facility.
The new PEPPER summarizes statistics in the following target areas:
- Live discharges
- Long length of stay
- Continuous home care in assisted living facility
- Routine home care in assisted living facility
- Routine home care in nursing facility
- Routine home care in skilled nursing facility
As of June 5, 2015, 57% of hospice providers had not yet retrieved the Hospice PEPPER according to TMF.
